Here are some photos of our garden, we planted 2 10’x4′ beds this year, and are adding a 3rd bed for next year since our plants were way too crowded! This one has corn, watermelon and cantaloupe.

My ‘gems’, the yellow grape tomato, so yummy and taking over the garden might I add!

Here’s our other bed, super crowded as you can see. This bed has everything else: carrots, radishes, onions, garlic, basil, tomatoes (roma, yellow), Zucchini, sugar peas, beans, chives, strawberries. It used to have broccoli, lettuce and cauliflower before it got hit by the tornado earlier this year.

Here’s the men making another bed to prepare for next year. My son loves anything that involves shovels, hammers, or drills. So here he blazed outside eagerly to help Daddy do ‘man stuff’. On his way out the door he said: “I gotta go work, can you bring us some water, it looks hot out there.”

  1. I know this is an old post, but I think this is great. I actually just joined a community garden and would like to have a garden in my yard once we buy a home. We have lots in common too…I have 4 small ones( 4, 3, 2, 7 months). We will be using your k4/k5 program this fall. Love your blog!
