We’re starting the letter U this week, I found this fun website, No Time For Flashcards!
They have a ton of fun ideas, and if you click on the “Letter of the week” they have ideas for each letter. We are going to try the Umbrella U craft later this week.

I was telling my Kindergartner that we were starting the letter U for his sister and I couldn’t think of a food for our Letter Fun Food day and my sweet little phonics learning dude says “I know, how about nUts!”…nice…

Letter U Memory Verse:
Unto thee, O God, do we give thanks, unto thee do we give thanks. Psalm 75:1

For our verses and accompanying games/stories we use the following books:
ABC Memory Verses & My ABC Bible Verses

Song time:

Hide ‘Em In Your Heart Songs – Vol 2

Capital U coloring page from Letter of the Week book:

Umbrella number match flip book, downloaded from here.

Umbrella Uu sorting game, downloaded from here.

Umbrella puzzle, downloaded from here. I may roll this into my magnetic laminate

Umbrella bottle cap letters, I guess I should start calling these wooden circle letters LOL! But I downloaded the alphabet template from here, then put mine on 1.5″ wooden circles from Michaels instead of milkcaps as I really wasn’t that thirsty ;o). You can download the umbrella bottlecap card here.

Lacing U’s, you can download my A-Z lacing cards here

Magnetic letter builders, click here to read more about these and download them!.

Paint Bag: Okay, so this box was supposed to be for my kindergartner to practice writing letters, however the idea took off and my kindergartner snagged it before she had a chance to see it. So, note to self: make 3 bags.

I filled a gallon zip-lock bag with tempura paint, not too much, and sealed it WELL. Then they can practice writing letters or shapes or whatever in the paint with their finger, no mess!

Rain Drop Color Matching, downloaded from here.

Magnetic Pom-Pom Umbrella page, downloaded from Making Learning Fun, they have ton’s of printables!

Geoboard, let’s make the letter U!

Working on her U umbrella craft, we colored it yesterday then cut it and paste it today. I got the idea from No Time For Flashcards site, they have a ton of craft ideas!

Since this week is our final vowel letter and U and u look pretty much the same, I had her do Capital/lowercase matching cards I downloaded from Honey’s blog! She has 5 volumes of these clip cards. Thanks Honey πŸ™‚

We also ate nUts and watched Ultimate Silly Song Countdown!

  2. Hi! The links to download everything connect to another blog and then to site that only gives me the option to buy a membership before I print. Am I missing the links that you usually have to 4shared which are free to download? I love your stuff and use it every week with my son! Thanks! πŸ™‚
