This was our first trip to the zoo this summer and we had a great time. I made these super cute little flipcards to carry with us as we visited each animal. I downloaded the zoo cards from Early Learning Activities, but sadly I ran out of laminate the night before and so we couldn’t bring them with us!

My plan was to have the kids bring a pencil and write down something fun on the back of each card as we saw that animal. For the little kiddos I was going to let them put a sticker on each animal signifying that they saw it since they can’t write. So, it was a good idea, but we’ll have to do it next time.

If you’re interested here are some pics of our trip, and I’m not sure how, but the kids still managed to have fun without their books. Maybe it was because we were celebrating my son’s 6th birthday and there was candy involved. I pouted some ;o)

  1. I've been following your blog for several months now and let me just say, it has been SOOO helpful! I've just finished my first ever week of homeschooling (a kindergartener and a Pre-K) and already it has been a roller coaster ride for me! Thanks for all your printables that make this more do-able!
