Welcome to this week’s What’s in the box Wednesday! I’m sharing my 1st grade boxes today.  You’ll probably notice I don’t put the Expedition Earth stuff in the boxes, we do it in the afternoon after our workboxes are done, so it doesn’t go in them.

Nest Bible Video:

Counting Money and Telling Time: Since Math U See doesn’t cover these topics as well as I’d like, I just added in a box to go over them myself. Every day i change out the amount of money in the box and he counts it and writes it on the white board. Then I spout out times and he makes them and writes them on the clock. Easy and fun!

Pick and Draw Game: This is a fun drawing game developed by Rich Davis, if you haven’t checked it out yet I highly recommend it!

  1. I agree, Math U See is good for conceptual learning of math, but is lacking in areas. It is easy to supplement with calendar, clocks, coins, and other hands on math activities.I also like to use the Critical Thinking workbooks (Mathmatical Reasoning). Timberdoodle.com carries them, pricy, but worth it. I lay a page protector over the pages and use a dry erase marker because they are so expensive.

  2. I just checked out that pick and draw game and bought it for my son for his bday gift. What a cool game idea! Looks like you have a great day of workboxes today! I meant to take pics of the workboxes we had today, but totally forgot. Maybe I can remember next week so I can link up! =)
