postcard1

Hi everyone,

Most of you already know via my Facebook that I am organizing a USA post card swap. What is a postcard swap? It is where 1 person from each state agrees to send out post cards from their state to all of the other participants. It’s just a fun, more personal way to learn about the states! It would be a great addition to your studies if for example if you are doing Road Trip USA ;o)

The FIRST swap has begun!

I know several of you have signed up for the USA Post Card Swap! Thanks so much, it’s exciting to see everyone participating! I just sent out an email with addresses and information for those who were first on the list, and that swap will start next week! YAY! If you signed up ,but didn’t receive an email from me, it is because you were 2nd on my list and I didn’t quite get enough people to do two swaps.

Second swap pending

Unfortunately, I didn’t quite get enough to do 2 people for each state, but I’m only about 16 states short. So….since I know you were all hoping to have a chance to participate, I’m putting out a quick call for the missing states, and If I get them filled up, I’ll coordinate 2 USA post card swaps!

What states do we still need?

  • Alaska
  • Arkansas
  • Connecticut
  • Delaware
  • Hawaii
  • Idaho
  • Maine
  • Massachusetts
  • Mississippi
  • New Hampshire
  • New York
  • Oklahoma
  • Oregon
  • Vermont
  • West Virginia
  • Wyoming

If you are from one of the above states, please email me at erica at confessionsofahomeschooler {dot} com and let me know!

IMPORTANT: Please put your state name in the subject, then your full name and address in the email so I can sort through them quickly. Participants will be added on a first come first serve basis. I will let you know via email if you have been added to the list.

Thanks!

  1. Oh, dear, somehow I completely missed this opportunity. We are from OH and we’d love to participate if another opportunity comes available. We are Cantering the Country and doing Road Trip this year (and probably next.)

I must make sure I’m following you on Facebook!
    Thanks for your great site!

  2. My daughter sent a small teddybear to some friends across the US in the mail about a year ago, hoping it would be sent around the country with updates and pictures. It has been a great success. “Glory Bear” as it has been named, has now been to 7 or 8 states, including Hawaii, and my daughter has been keeping a journal of it’s travels. She loves following it’s progress. The people who receive it, take some pictures in different locations, and send it off to someone else that they know, sending my daughter an update. It has been a fun experiment!
