Educational Activities for Busy Toddlers

IMG_5617.jpg

Welcome to Teeny Tot Tuesday! I’ve got some fun ideas to share with you today to help keep your toddlers busy and learning at the same time!   Thanks to my All About Reading Level 1 kit, we had these fun word eggs to flip. Tinker Bell flipped each one over then read the word. The Teeny Tot insisted on playing too.   Then she got really serious.   She pulled out our Rush Hour Jr. game again too. Not sure why, but the kids all love this. The game is fun to play, but the Teeny Tot doesn’t play by the rules.   We always try to include our Teeny Tot in with our regular studies. Partly because it gets her used to doing school, and mostly because it keeps her from wondering around the house and say…coloring all over our mirror with mom’s lipstick. Here she is doing a self portrait.     One thing we both love are the Alphabet Alley puzzles. They’re so great for toddlers even kindergartners because the … [Read more...]

VeggieTales

veggiepromo.jpg

One of the things that my children have consistently loved are the VeggieTales DVDs. We’ve owned several over the years, so you can imagine my thrill when VeggieTales contacted me to check out their DVDs! My kids were equally as excited to see VeggieTales DVDs show up in the mail for them!     God Loves You Very Much DVD: $12.99 (On sale now for $10.99) “The follow up to the smash hit "God Made You Special", this new compilation features stories that show uniquely how God cares for us in all kinds of situations!  With the brand new story "God Loves You" kids can know, through verse and song, how special and loved they are by their family, friends, and most of all - God!” My kids absolutely loved this DVD, I’m not sure how many times they’ve watched it since it arrived, but I do know that I stopped counting! If you haven’t seen VeggieTales DVDs yet, you must take a look! They’re silly, cute, and I’m not sure what it is, but … [Read more...]

Ephesians 3:14-21 ~ Week 6

Ephesians.jpg

Welcome to week 6 of our Ephesians Study! I hope you are all persevering in your study and taking some time each day to soak in God’s Word and see what He has for you! No matter how many times I read Ephesians I always walk away blessed and encouraged and that is my prayer for you all as well!   In our reading this week Paul prayer for us as believers is so powerful! Paul is humbly asking of God spiritual blessings for his brothers and sisters in Christ, the Ephesians. These blessings are something that can be prayed for by everyone of us, both for ourselves, and for others around us. We too can seek to be rooted and grounded in His love, and ask for strength from the Spirit of God in our inner most parts, strength of the soul, strength of faith, strength to serve and persevere through our calling as Christians, husbands/wives, fathers/mothers, sons/daughters, and friends. Having Christ dwell in our hearts drastically changes our outlook, our priorities, and places our … [Read more...]

Big Buttons from Oriental Trading Number Tracing sheet with star stickers Pattern Block Activity Pack from Learning Resources Geoboard and rubber bands Letter A Tracing worksheet and dry-erase marker   Number Tracing: You can either use with pencil/crayon etc, or laminate and use with dry-erase. We chose to put stickers along each number just for fun. This kid has some serious focus when she’s doing schoolwork.   She had fun with the lacing buttons today. First she made herself a necklace, then proceeded to create the most knotted bunch of buttons I think I’ve ever seen.   She really likes the Geoboard. She made shapes using colored rubber bands. Then she took them all off and did straight lines, then filled the board.   She also did an uppercase/lowercase Letter A matching game from my Letter of the Week … [Read more...]
