Hi teachers! Are you looking for a fun way to have students practice their sight words? Look no further!

I’ve had a ton of requests for some more of my sight word sentences, so today I’m sharing the second grade sight word sentence printables with you.

Each worksheet has the word along with a funny sentence. Students will practice tracing the word, reading the word, then writing it on their own.

Students will also cut out the letters then glue them on the sheet to spell the word correctly to complete a sentence. This activity is great for fine-motor skills and spelling practice!

Next they will write the word to complete the sentence.

Finally they will make up their own sentence using their newly learned sight word! The repetition along with the variety of activities really helps students remember their sight words!

This download includes 46 Second grade level sight words from the Dolch sight word list.

  1. This is a wonderful website, I am a private tutor and am so blessed to be able to make a living from doing what I love. Teaching! I so admire the home schools, as I have abandoned the idea of working in a school for obvious reasons. Thank you so much for sharing all this with us.

  2. It would be awesome if you would include the PrePrime and nouns in the caterpillar sight words. I just love the site word printables that you have done. My children love them too. But having the other two lists in this format would be wonderful too.Is there any chance of a near future caterpillar with the preprime and noun sight words?

  3. Good morning Erica. I hope your family enjoyed your Christmas and New Year season. I am a first-year homeschooler (enough said, right!? lol) of two 4th and 1st. To make things more challenging we pulled both of our children out of public schools and found they both suffer with eye tracking, teaming and focus issues. This could be one reason why my daughter was reading at a lower second grade level (with extra help) and being pushed into 4th grade.

I am looking for a website or software that I can produce worksheets. I have tried on my own only to download from untrustable sites and have had to clear out multiple viruses. (Yes, my 6 yr old son clicked onto his Explode the Code online work to see pornographic advertisements on the side bars) Oh man, 1st year homeschooling would kill me if not for Jesus!

Your worksheets are beautiful but I would like to customize the sight words to help my daughter with some of the more difficult yet common words in her reading.

Thank you for all that you provide to your family and our homeschool community. God Bless richly!

  4. I needed something badly for summer work for a kindergartner that reads at a 2nd to 3rd grade level, and is working on 2nd and 3rd grade sight words. I don’t have time to make it myself. Thank you so very much for sharing!

  5. This is SO helpful! I am currently in Thailand teaching about 30 kids in one class and I have been struggling to find something they would all benefit from. This is so so great. Thank you for sharing!!
