2013merrychristmas

Merry Christmas!

I’m taking today and tomorrow off from our giveaways to celebrate the birth of our Savior! I pray that you have a blessed time with friends and family this season and that you keep Jesus the center of all festivities!

We’re Italian, and my husband’s family is German. I’ll be hosting Christmas this year, so I thought you might like to see our menu…weird as it may seem ;o)

  • Spaghetti
  • Meatballs
  • Garlic bread
  • Salad
  • Turkey
  • Cranberries
  • Mashed potatoes
  • Sweet stuffing
  • Green bean casserole (yuck!)
  • Pumpkin Pie
  • Italian Christmas Jello

We’ll be gathering at our home for food, presents, and fellowship as we celebrate the birth of our Savior!

What are some of your favorite Christmas traditions or foods, I would love to hear what you all do to celebrate!

Blessings from our family to yours,

We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful 2014!

Erica, Jason, Strawberry Shortcake, Turbo, Tinker Bell and the Teeny Tot!

  1. I am Italian and we have always done italian foods for Christmas!!! We usually have lasagna, salad, garlic bread and desserts!! I host for my family and my husband’s family and his side thought it was so strange that I would serve lasagna, but after 15 years they just go along with it 🙂

  2. We’re Polish (husband’s family) and Scottish (mine) and currently I’m making the lasagna to take with us to my mother in law’s house for dinner tomorrow. It started a few years back when she was ill and we’ve made it a new tradition. Ham on Easter, turkey on Thanksgiving, and lasagna on Christmas.

    Merry Christmas!!!!

  3. My husband works retail and thankfully the last two years he has been given Christmas Eve off. So we go to church, go out to eat, hit up Winterhaven (local neighborhood that is decorated for Christmas), come home wear Christmas pajamas, read Luke chapter 2 as a family and go to bed before waking up and opening gifts.

  4. Merry Christmas, Erica and family! Christmas Eve we have a simple, delicious sandwich buffet at my MILs house, and we open gifts with my hubby’s side of the family. This year, some of our extended family members fell ill so it was decided last minute we would postpone our get together until Saturday…this momma had no plan B for such an occurrence so we ended up at Red Robin tonight for dinner! 🙂

  5. Merry Christmas!
I don’t like green bean casserole either. I never understood why people think it is so wonderful. Blech!
I am Irish but I make lasagna every Christmas. It is the only time of the year I make it because I make a regular one, a gluten free one, and a dairy and gluten free one. All are meatless and made with spinach instead. Yum!
