Anne of Avonlea Classic Literature Unit

Hey guys! I have another fun literature unit for you today. Anne of Avonlea is a super cute and charming story following Anne Shirley along with more adventure. If you If you enjoyed Anne of Green Gables, you’ll love Anne of Avonlea!     Story Summary: In this classic, Anne Shirley is grown up and starting out on her own life. She has begun a new job as a teacher at Avonlea School, and also started the Avonlea Village Improvement Society with her friends Dian, and Gilbert whom you will recall. While many things have changed, Anne is still just as prone to adventure as she ever was! I hope you enjoy this classic as much as I did! The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn Literature Unit

Good morning lovely readers! I have a new literature unit for you today! This has been a much requested unit, and it’s finally done! If your student liked The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, then they’ll probably love The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn too!   Story Summary: Wherever he goes, trouble seems to follow Huckleberry Finn in this adventurous story! Huck is an independent boy growing up in mid-1800’s Missouri. Of course trouble finds him as he goes on a great rafting adventure down the Mississippi River, where he runs into his old friend Jim. He also meets a few new acquaintances who seem eager to make Huck’s life as difficult as possible! Charlotte’s Web Activities for Kids

Good morning readers! I have a cute post to share today of our creativity in action! I’m sure most of you have seen my Charlotte’s Web unit study, but I wanted to show these cute webs that my kiddos came up with.  Tinker Bell decided to make one with pipe cleaners. By the time she was done she had a whole little family of pipe cleaner spiders. They turned out really cute.   True to form, Turbo took the web concept to a whole new level, and created this gigantic web using a hot glue gun and large popsicle sticks.  As you can see it’s about 2 1/2 feet tall or so. It went up to the middle of our school room door.   As you can see Tinker Bell LOVES pigs, so this book was right up her alley! She read through it quite quickly though, so she ended up doing a couple of lapbook activities each day.
