Preschool Homeschool Curriculum Picks

Hi everyone! I always post my curriculum for each year prior to the start of our school year. But I’ve had some requests to post our curriculum choices by grade level to help out people trying to choose curriculum for a certain year. I thought that would be a great idea, and if it helps you all out then double yay! I’ll be starting this week with our preschool homeschool curriculum choices, and going up through the grades each Monday.     Please keep in mind that students and parents needs will differ, so what we’re comfortable with may not work perfectly for you. So I’m hoping you’ll just use this as a guide to help you get started in picking your curriculum. And hopefully take my choices as helpful suggestions, not what you  absolutely have to do. Here are the basic subjects I suggest you cover for Kindergarten: Alphabet (Recognition & Sounds) Art & Music introduction Bible Calendar skills: Days of the week, months of the … [Read more...]

Preschool Letter H Activities

Hi everyone! Welcome to the Teeny Tot Tuesday post! School is back in swing, and we’re picking up where we left off at the end of last year. This week the Teeny Tot is working on the Letter H for Hippo. For more printables and ideas, visit my Letter H preschool post! Hippos are totally cute, and these activities were one of her favorites. Here she is working on size sorting. I instructed her to sort them from smallest to largest, then we reviewed all of the colors.   Next we did some fine-motor skill activities with our Jumbo Push Pins and Letter H Poke Page. I have her carefully poke holes all along the letter outlines, then we hold it up to the window to see our letters shine through.   Next we did some cutting and pasting. She cut out all of the hippo parts, then assembled them using glue on a piece of construction paper.   I believe Tinker Bell might have helped her add some embellishments here…     She also did some Hippo coloring, great … [Read more...]

Preschool Daily Learning Notebook

Hi everyone! I’m excited to share a new freebie with you all today! It’s my preschool daily learning notebook! I’ve seen several versions of these on various blogs and decided to create one that fit our needs. I wanted something that allowed the Teeny Tot to work on her calendar time activities each day, and this was a perfect fit!   The Preschool Daily Learning Notebook includes: What day is it? Find today’s number Write today’s number Write today’s number word (I don’t always require her to do this, but added it for days when she’s on days 1-10)     I made a printable for each weekday, Monday through Friday, with traceable days on it for preschoolers. On this page she’ll trace the weekday, find today’s number and color in the circle. Trace the number (I write this in with pencil for her to trace), and then write the number word for the day. Right now I only have her do this when we’re on days one-ten.   I think her … [Read more...]
