Happy 2024! Over the past two years, we have done a monthly QUILTY and STITCHY pattern series, and this year we will continue the tradition with a Pillow of the Month series! The pillows will be seasonal based on each month, beginner-friendly, and the perfect way to bring some homemade decor into your space!
I will show you how to do a basic pillow finish for the cross-stitch pieces, in today’s video tutorial. I also have some other fun finishing ideas for the upcoming month’s stitches, but will share more on that later!

Materials Needed:
- Cloth (14-count Aida)
- Size 26 tapestry needle
- Optional finishing Supplies: Accent fabric, Quilt Batting, Pillow Stuffing
Floss Colors
- DMC 5200 Snow White
- DMC 519 Sky Blue
- DMC 517 Wedgewood Dk.
- DMC 518 Wedgewood Lt.
Pattern Details:
- The stitch count for the House of the Month is 40w by 40h.
- The sample is stitched on 14-count Aida (Wichelt Beautiful Beige) cloth using 2 strands of DMC floss. If you stitch with the recommended fabric, the finished piece will be approximately 3″w x 3″h.
