I can’t believe you are 7 years old today, this very minute! It seems like just yesterday I was holding a 5 pound sweet baby boy in my arms! And today, you are such an awesome blessing to our family. You’re a wonderful brother and just an awesome dude in general. You’re laugh is contagious, and I love that even at 7 years old you’re still willing to cuddle with your mama. I’m so thankful that God has blessed us with your presence, I can’t imagine a more perfect fit for our family. My favorite gift for you this year was the book your big sister gave you. “The Story of You”….she read it to you after everyone left and I have to say that I had a tear in my eye. She commended you for being the best brother ever and talked about how great you are at everything you do! And she’s right! We couldn’t love you more! I wanted to take a moment today to say “Thank You” to my awesome mom and mother-in-law! You are both so wonderful and caring, and the kids couldn’t love you more! Actually, I think they love you more than me! Probably because you bribe them with mints and let them have popsicles for breakfast. ;o) We are truly honored and blessed to have you both in our lives! And quite frankly, my sanity would be severely in question if it weren’t for your help and support! I’ll never forget the day my son almost drowned. It was exactly 1 year ago from today. We had been at a private swimming pool, there were 4 adults there that day along with my 4 children. Somehow when there are more adults around, I feel more comfortable, but really I think everyone assumes someone else is watching. (This photo taken 7/7/2010 at his first swim lesson for this year, he did amazing, much better than I did actually, I was on the edge of my seat the entire lesson.) We were getting ready to leave the pool that day and everyone was getting out. My son was playing on the steps and I was changing the baby’s clothes and not paying attention. The next thing I realized my daughter was yelling “MOM! MOM!” she was also yelling her brother’s name. When I looked up, she had her floaty in one arm and our son in the other and was swimming as fast as she could back to the edge.
