Thanks readers for having my back! So of course I talked my mom into making these cute little place mats for the kids to practice setting the table and they turned out great! Felt Food: Lunch Time Tutorial

Felt Lunchtime Pattern by Little Crickets, we did purchase this pattern for $6, and it was so worth it, these are the cutest little lunch sets I’ve ever seen! Check out Little Cricket’s Etsy shop for more felt creations, they are so cute! According to my mom , it took awhile to make these, but then she’s such a dear, she made 4 sets since there are 4 kiddos! (I know, one is missing from the pic, she kept it to show a friend.) Here’s a close up of one of the sets: The pattern comes with bread, ham, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes (oh the dreaded tomatoes! From what I hear these took the longest, but just take a look at them, they’re adorable!), chocolate chip cookies, pickles, an orange, and a sweet little bag to put it all in! And look at that cute little orange, we joked that it looked like a pumpkin, and when my 3 year old was ‘fixing me lunch’ the other day, I asked for an orange, and she said “Oh, it looks like I’m out of oranges, but you can have this punkin!” Needless to say … [Read more...]

Felt Pizza Tutorial

Well, like I said I developed a felt food craving quite quickly after the felt doughnuts! There is a wonderful video tutorial from Lilly Bean! Here's my attempt at the felt pizza:Supplies:4 Sheets of light tan felt for crust1 sheet of light cream for cheese1 sheet red for pepperoni1 sheet green for peppers1 sheet marbled tan or brown for mushroomsneedle and matching thread, scissors, sewing machine if you have one!regular sized plate and rulerFilling: you can use 1/2" foam, or I used some sheet cotton from my christmas houses!)Instructions:1. Using the light tan felt, trace your pizza pie shape onto the felt. The straight sides measure 5.5" and then I used a plate to draw on the curve. (Repeat 4 times if you're making a whole pizza)2. Layer your traced felt piece onto another one, then roughly cut out the crust shapes going through both layers and secure layers together with a pin. Using a sewing machine, sew along the line you traced onto the felt. Once done, cut a slit into one side … [Read more...]
