Welcome to Week 4 of our Vintage Christmas 2 quilt-a-long!
I am going to break it up into five weeks, so we can get be ready for the holiday season. But of course, you can go at your own pace! Make sure to share your progress pictures using #vintagechristmas2qal so we can all see your work!
I’ll be posting my progress regularly on Instagram and Facebook so make sure to follow along with me there. And I’ll share little tips as we go in my IG and FB stories, so make sure to check each day for updates!
Week 4 Schedule:
Monday: Cut out fabric for Sashing and Border blocks.
Tuesday-Wednesday: Sew the large pinwheel sashing rows together. Today we’re sewing with the pinwheel sashing strips that run horizontally between the rows.
Thursday – Friday: Sew the Border 1 and Border 2, and border 3 sections together. These are going to look so cute, and just give our quilt a fun and festive frame! As always we’ll be strip piecing the borders together so they’ll be super easy and fast!
Tip: Make sure to pin-pin-pin when working on those pinwheel sashing strips! And be as consistent with your 1/4″ seam as you can. With that many seams, the strip will get a little stretchy. I like to cut the green and white border strips, then pin the pinwheel strip between really well. I pin at both ends, then the center, then as many in-between as needed to keep everything nice and straight.
November 1: Tree Blocks
November 8: Truck Blocks
November 15: Pinwheels and Holly
November 22: Sashing and borders
November 29: Assemble Top, Baste, Quilt, & Bind!

Pattern Level: Beginner-Intermediate
This entire quilt is traditionally pieced! It does have several pieces, so I think it’s a beginner-intermediate level pattern. However, the pattern does include step-by-step graphic illustrations and written instructions, and you’re welcome to email me if you have any questions at all!
So I say if you like it, go for it!
