So what is Expedition Earth: A Journey Through God’s World?

Expedition Earth is a hands-on world geography curriculum that covers 31 countries across the world. It is designed primarily for Kindergarten-5th grade. Students will learn about the continents, oceans, people, cultures, animals, climates, try new foods, crafts, and more, all through hands-on activities! I used it with my preschooler, 1st grader, and 2nd grader altogether. (My preschooler didn’t do any reports, but she did learn the country names, songs, languages, pray and do all the fun crafts and recipe activities!)

The revised version includes Lap Books for each country, new information, internet links, and books. Here’s a peek at the Teacher’s Manual. It includes everything you need for each lesson including any additional info, internet links, reading assignments, crafts, and recipes for each country as needed. There are 32 weeks of lesson plans, plus a Christmas Around the World Unit. The Teacher’s Manual is outlined for you on a daily basis and even includes a Craft Supply Shopping List for each country just to make your life a little easier!

As if that weren’t enough, I also have a FREE animal unit study called Expedition Earth: Discovering God’s Animals. It’s a wonderful supplement for Expedition Earth, and includes animals found in each country, a mini-book, and animal cards. It also includes animal classification labels for an animal wall. 1. Hi Meredith,
I’m so sorry, right now I only sell the Expedition Earth curriculum as a whole set. You can look at my post on Germany to see what we did and get some ideas to use though 🙂

    1. Hi Alina, there are 195 pages in the teacher’s manual, 166 in the student workbook, and 99 in the animals supplement. You don’t have to print the TM if you want to save on ink/cost. I use mine on my computer so I can click on the links in the curriculum anyway 🙂

      1. Hi there. This curriculum looks amazing, but I’m wondering if it will be cost prohibitive for me because of the printing. Would the student workbook be better printed in color or could you get away with black and white?

        Jennifer
        1. Hi Jennifer,
Yes you can definitely print it in black and white. The only thing I would suggest printing in color are the animal cards that go on the wall if you choose to do that activity. They’re nice to be able to see in color 🙂 The 99% of the student workbook is black and white already aside from just a couple of activities.

  1. From the sample preview I see that it tells you to read from certain books… Is there a list of which books are needed? (I’m just trying to count the cost before diving in!) Thanks!
(Just decided to homeschool; am loving your site so far!)

  2. When you say reports for older students, what ages are you thinking of being older? This looks amazing but I am trying to find something for a 5th grader and 9th grader that was just pulled from public school. They want to do this together but it is hard to find something appropriate for that age span. Would this have any ideas to make it span a age span greater than 5th grade. Or would I be better off to keep looking.

    1. Hi Carla,
It would probably be fine for your 5th grader, but the Expedition Earth would really be too easy for a 9th grader. It’s meant to be an elementary level curriculum.

  3. Hello, I was wondering if we purchased a license for our homeschool co-op, how long is the license good for? Are there any limits to printing, like a certain number? In case we wanted to use it again in the future.

  4. Hello Erica,
Your geography curriculum looks very interesting and with lot of fun activities. I will have next year a K, 1, 2 and 4th grader. Can I use it for all of them together, at the same time? How long is one lesson?

    Maria
    1. Yes, you can use it with the entire group. The lessons range from 20-40 min per day depending on if there is a craft/recipe. Those days obviously take a bit longer. You can also adjust the activities to fit your schedule as well.
