Welcome to Preschool Kicked Up A Notch! BAM!

As we’re going through the Letter of the Week activities, I wanted to add in some more handwriting now that we’ve done all the pre-writing practice, and here they are for you too!

Download the A-Z Handwriting Worksheets

Each sheet contains some pre-writing practice for the letter along with capital and lowercase writing practice.

The download contains pages for the letters I have more than one subject selection for as well.

These activities are part of my K4 level expansion to my Letter of the Week Curriculum, click on the images below to see more activities. The K4 curriculum isn’t quite finished yet, so until I get it packaged all nice and purdy you can download from my posts!

  1. Love it! My gosh you are such a blessing to me!

    • Kathryn Gladden says:

I run a home daycare pre-school and I love this site

      • Wow! I was amazed to see your surname!!!
That was my nee name, and I have never met another family ever with the same surname.- Sorry just couldn’t resist commenting 🙂

  2. These are absolutely amazing…THANK YOU!!!

  3. Thanks for these! Am I right in thinking the lower case d's starting dot is in the wrong place though?

    • Yes, it should start at the top.

      • As a school based OT, I feel that lower case d should start with what we call, “magic c,” as does a, g, and q in the Handwriting Without Tears writing program. Similarly, Fontas and Pinnel (sp?) Verbal Pathways would start those same letters the same way with, “pull back,” making a little c.
Grouping letters with similar sequences makes them easier to learn and reduces reversals.
There are many ways to teach letter and number formation; being consistent, using a multisensory approach, doing brief daily practice (10 min.), and making it fun are essential.
I use and love these sheets. Thank you all for sharing such great ideas.

  4. Your creativity and generosity is amazing. Thank you so much for sharing all of your hard work.

  5. Thank you so much! I think my 4 yo will have a great year from all of the fun stuff i have gotten from your site.

  11. Alison: YES, you are correct, sorry about that, its fixed

  12. Cole Family: The worksheets ARE included in the download version, but they aren't fitting on the CD right now. I'm trying to make a few files smaller to see if I can get them to fit LOL!

  14. I'm sure tons of people tell thank you for sharing but I wanted to add my name to the list. I am just starting to homeschool my son who is 3. I had no idea where to begin. 20. i'm unable to download the worksheets. can you email this to me? Thank you so much….just started homeschooling yesterday with my 4yr and 2 yr old. Thanks

  21. Thank you, Thank you! This is the best preschool program, my 4yr old is loving everything! My 6yr old even wants in on some of the action- and he needs handwriting practice- so they can both do these together. You are so generous, blessings to you for all you do, it is much appreciated by those of us who are "creativity deficient". ;-)Sabrina

  23. These are amazing I love it!! Thank you so much for creating them and sharing with us.

  24. Hi Erica,I know you get a hundred of these comments regularly, but I am SO blessed by your blog!!!! I just started following you recently, and while I am not yet homeschooling my 3 yr old I've been getting great ideas to do with her now. These handwriting sheets are better than some of the KUMON and wipeoff books I've been buying! Thanks for being such a blessing…. 🙂 jane

  25. I love this! Thank you for adding it in!

  26. Thanks for sharing!!!!

  27. These are great! Thank you so much!

  28. Thank you thank you thank you! I love your site and that you provide it for free, well, what a blessing!

  29. Thank you so much for sharing!!

  30. Thank you sooo very much for what you do.I have been following your blog for sometime now.You are such a blessing to me and my family.

  31. These are so cute. Thanks! Have you done any for practicing numbers? Maybe I just missed that post. You are wonderful! Thanks so much! ~Misti

  32. Misti: Numbers are coming next! :o)

  33. I teach vowels first then consonants. That way when you start consonants you can try beginning blends like if they’ve learned a,e,I,o,u then you start with T they can learn Ta, te, ti, to, tu.I don’t do a set order for consonants because I had some that were seasonal for example, we did P for pumpkin in the fall, and V for valentines in Feb and K for kite & W for watermelon when it’s warm etc.

  34. Thank you so much for these fantastic sheets! Would you consider making some handwriting sheets using the D'Nealian letters?

  35. you are so AWESOME!!! these will be great for my PreK and will probably help my first grader refine her writing too! thank you sooooo much!

  36. Bubbles: Hi, I do not have plans to do D'Nealian just yet, I don't use that and so it would be extra work for me. Plus I'd have to purchase the fonts. I may do something in the future if time allows, but right now I'm focusing on things that will benefit our children this year. Thanks!

  37. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!! I knew I wanted to start homeschooling my 3 1/2 year old son, but had no idea where to start. We just started this past week, and so far it's going really well. Thank you for sharing your creativity, knowledge and most of all your experience! Keep it coming!!!! P.S. – I also just read the recommended list of supplies, and wanted to let you know that on amazon I found a pack of 100 laminating sheets for $10!! When I went to the store to get them I almost passed out when I saw how expensive they were, so I wanted to share my "deal" since you have shared so much:)

  38. Thank you so much for these!!! I really am thankfull for all the amazing school items that you share with us. My son just started showing interest in writing so this came at the perfect time. Thank you again.

  39. That's what I figured, but I thought I'd ask. We do use D'Nealian and would love to have your beautiful sheets (that match the rest of your curriculum) in the handwriting style we use. I do appreciate all of your work, though!!

  40. These are so kid friendly and fun that it makes me want to switch handwriting styles. (sigh)

  41. These are fantastic, thank you!

  42. Awesome! Thank you so much for sharing!

  43. I've been trying to download this file but it says the link is broken. Would it be possible for you to email it to me? I would appreciate it so much. Thank you for sharing all of your great ideas. This has been a great resource for me while I've been homeschooling my son!

  44. Love, Love, Love these!! However, I needed some new copies of a couple of the letters and tried to download them today and they will not download. PLEASE tell me you have not removed them.

  45. Oh please,oh please put these back up! 🙂 I would love to use them with my daughter who has some fine motor issues. I think having the getting ready strokes would really help her out.

  46. Hi everyone, the links should be working, I clicked on it myself and it took me to the 4shared download page, what errors are you getting?

  47. Hi! So Sorry, there WAS some issue with the file i uploaded to 4shared. IT IS FIXED NOW! Please let me know if you have any other issues, but I have checked it and downloaded fine. Thanks! Sorry!

  48. It seems to be working now! Thanks so much for your wonderful print outs. My boys and I love them.

  49. thank you so much for fixing this glitch so quickly!

  50. Carissa in KS says:

Erica, I am getting an error message that says, "The file link that you requested is not valid." Is this the same problem that was reported (and fixed!) last week?
