Day 7: Love believes the best

[Love] bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 1 cor 13:7

TODAY’S DARE

For today’s dare, get two sheets of paper. On the first one, spend a few minutes writing out positive things about your spouse. Then do the same with negative things on the second sheet. Place both sheets in a secret place for another day. There is a different purpose and plan for each. At some point during the remainder of the day, pick a positive attribute from the first list and thank your spouse for having this characteristic.

I had to edit today’s challenge for the kids a bit. We each said 1 thing that hurts their feelings and we wrote it on the board. Then we wrote everyone’s name on the board and put a list of things we LIKE about each person on that list. We are going to try NOT to do the 1 thing that hurts their feelings, and if we think of something bad about another person, we are to go in the room and read all the good things we like about that person as a reminder to focus on the positive!

The Love Dare is a 40-day challenge for husbands and wives to understand and practice unconditional love. You can do it as a couple, or if your marriage is in trouble, do it as an individual, for your marriage, out of obedience to Christ. Each day has a challenging lesson on love, followed by a ‘dare’ for the day, and space to journal how it went. For more information visit Fireproof My Marriage

I would ask for you all to pray for us as we embark on this journey, and let me know if I can pray for you as well. Click here to start from Day 1!

If you’re participating in The Love Dare, I would love to hear from you! Add your link to our McLinky so we can all pray for each other!
