Expedition Earth: Venezuela

Buen Dia’! Welcome to our Expedition Earth week on Venezuela! Did you know that kids in Venezuela have hot chocolate for breakfast? It’s a very thick soupy pudding mixture that children dip bread in! Here are some more of the things we covered this week: Located Venezuela & the Caribbean Sea on the map and completed our worksheet How to say “Hello” in Spanish – Hola (Hello) Buen Dia’ (Good Day)! Expedition Earth Brazil Dinner Night

We went to a super fun Brazilian dinner at Rodizio’s Grill to celebrate the end of our Expedition Earth week on Brazil! The kids were so brave trying all kinds of new things! Sorry for the poor quality photos, these were taken with my iphone! I’m sure the waiters thought I was nuts taking pictures lf them each time they brought a new item by. We started off with a yummy fried banana appetizer. They were so yummy my daughter asked why they eat dessert first in Brazil! If you’ve never been to Rodizio’s before, you have to give it a try! They don’t have a menu there. Instead they offer a yummy salad bar, then waiters walk around with skewers of all kinds of different meats and Brazilian treats to try. One of the kids favorites was the grilled pineapple. We also tried bacon wrapped turkey, various sirloin style meats, grilled mahi-mahi with red peppers, roasted pork tenderloin, grilled tomatoes, garlic filet, Brazilian pot roast, and the least favorite of the bunch grilled … [Read more...]

How Do You Do It All?

I’ve gotten several emails lately asking me how I “do it all”, you know, homeschool, cook, clean, do laundry, make printables, blog, and stay sane. After I got done laughing hysterically, I thought I should just be honest and lay it out for you. Keep it real. The short answer: I don’t. The Long Answer: I know it may seem like things are all roses over here at Confessions, but you have to keep one thing in mind when reading my blog (And really this goes for most blogs): You only see what I want you to see. 1. You don’t see the messes the Teeny Tot makes while we’re trying to do school. And trust me, she makes messes. It’s her specialty. Confession: I often take my arm, or foot, or Teeny Tot, and sweep it across the floor clearing away all the debris so I can snap a lovely shot of one of my children working happily on a project. 2. You don’t see my laundry room. Ever. With 6 people in our house, it seems like that humming sound coming from the Laundry room never … [Read more...]
