Don’t worry, I know I haven’t posted much about the Teeny Tiny Tot this summer, but she’s definitely still going strong! She’s still up to her usual antics, and this year I’m hoping to add her into our school day in a smooth and calm manner. Yep, that’s my plan and I’m sticking to it!
So here she is helping with crafts, she’s in charge of doling out pens for our our China Lantern craft. Later she became in charge of taking them back…while the other kids were still using them.
Beads and Water Bottle: This is now one of her favorite activities, I gave her an empty water bottle and some small beads and had her fill the bottle. This kept her occupied for quite awhile, I just had to stick close by to make sure none of them made their way into her mouth. The beads used in this picture are Biggie Beads by Fun Fusion!
We also did the bottle activity with alphabet beads later in the week. These little alphabet beads are from JoAnn’s in the bead section. They are little square beads with letters on them.
Small Spaces: She practiced putting straws into a jar with holes poked in the lid. This was difficult for her, but she is persistent and managed to get some in. The straws bent easily, so maybe it would’ve worked better with something stronger like toothpicks. I made this by poking holes in the lid of a plastic jar.
Puzzles: she always goes back to her favorite magnetic fish puzzle I found in the parents section of Target.
Chopstick Practice: And she tried her hand at sorting felt strawberries with chopsticks. This activity was difficult, so she picked them up with one hand and put them into the chopsticks. (The colorful bowls are from the kitchen section of Target, I think they’re prep bowls?)
Counting: Later she helped her sister learn her numbers (Floor numbers are from our Letter of the Week Curriculum)
Sorter: Then scooped and sorted pom-poms into bowls. These plastic bowls are old dole fruit containers! Pom-poms are from Wal-mart.
Snack Thief: Here she is being all sweet and nice to her big sister because she’s just nice like that…I’m certain it has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that her big sister has a bag of cookies in her hand.
Puzzle Worker: Here she is working on a puzzle, which she became quickly frustrated with, so that was lots of fun. Not! (Numbers puzzle is from the Parents section at Target.)
Bead Lacer: And here she is trying her hand at lacing. These beads were too small for her, so I really had to sit and help her, next time we’ll try bigger beads, I was just too lazy to get them out! These alphabet lacing beads are from Lakeshore Learning.
I’ll post more about what was in her boxes this week in a later post, but for now, just know that the Teeny Tiny Tot is still just as crazy as always!
Goodness I love the picture of her stealing the markers back reminds me of my kids..lol 1 child is moving out of that phase and the next one is entering it, but Im sure you know what that's like =)
I really struggle with incorporating my one-year-old into school. He doesn't want any of his usual toys while the big girls are having school. I will have to try the beads and water bottle activity! Thanks!

Can you give some links to purchase the toys she was playing with? I have a 15 month old who isn't quite ready for those things, but they would be great Christmas gifts as he will probably be more involved with our preschool at the beginning of the year. Love your blog and Love the Letter of the Week curriculum! My 3 year old asks to do school everyday!
She's getting so big!!My tot was sitting on my lap as I read and she notice the picture with the baby wearing big sissy's shoes. She immediately felt a connection because she said, "Hers got fancy shoes. Can I play wis her?" Kayleigh loves shoes. LOL
Great ideas! How old is teeny tiny tot? My tot is almost 20 months old, and I think she'd have fun with some of these activities!

How cute!! Juliette reminds me of your Teeny Tiny Tot, I have found her on top of many places that Emily never found her way too when she was this little. She loves to play with little things and they almost always make their way into her mouth! Thanks for sharing the things that you are doing with her I love getting ideas to use with Juliette :0)
