We’re into our 4th month of school this year, and we’re still loving the WriteShop Primary! Although I’ve only been doing it a couple times a week, our kids are doing quite well. One thing that has really helped us with our writing, is our WriteShop Story Builders!writeshop_storybuilders2

They’ve been a HUGE help on days when they kids just can’t come up with an idea to write about. I printed them all off and put them in a little 3×5 recipe type box. I let them just grab in and pull out a card so it’s a surprise! If they really don’t like the card they pick, I let them grab another one, it’s really not a big deal, and they always find something fun to write about using the Story Builders!

What types of cards do they offer?

Now is a great time for the Christmas Mini-Builder cards, so if you’re kids are having a hard time thinking of things to write about, I encourage you to try the WriteShop Story Builders!

And if you haven’t tried WriteShop yet, take a look! It’s a fun way to get excited about writing! The techniques they use are really engaging and my children are actually excited about writing now instead of dreading it!

  1. I’ve just started homeschooling my 9-year-old son, but he is struggling with creative writing and honestly I’m struggling with trying to find a FUN way to teach him creative writing. I love the idea behind Story Builders and would love to give them a try. They sound fun!!

  2. It would be a blessinng to win these. My husband has lost his job twice in three years and resources are limited. I know writing is important, but sometimes overwhelming to teach or decide on a curriculum. Writeshop seems to have a good balance of fun and learning so it seems like a right fit for our family. Thankfully my husband has a job now in sales, but it is slow going. We are committed to homeschooling, even through hard time. God is good and we have seen His blessings along the way!
