Welcome to the 9th study in the Character series that is based on Honesty (vs. Lying/False Witness.) Click on the image or link below to download a pdf of this study.

A Character study: Honesty

Honesty-1

Other books required for this study: The Bible (any version will do!)

Each day you will learn a verse, read a story where this sin is illustrated, then discuss the consequences of this sin followed up by the blessings of obedience. I encourage discussion with your children on ways they can help one another to stay free from this sin. Putting these ideas into practice on a daily basis will help them to become habit.

Our daily/weekly challenge: “Be honest, make sure whatever comes out of your mouth honors God”

I have a sticker sheet and anyone caught making good choices, that’s right “caught making good choices” gets a sticker. I tend to only respond when someone is making bad decisions, and this helps me to focus on the good instead. Whoever has the most stickers at the end of the week gets a prize, and frankly if I think my kids are actually trying their best then everyone gets a prize.

I hope this study blesses your family as it has mine!

  1. I'd love to get a copy of this character study, but I'm having trouble with the site you use called 4share. It doesn't seem to download your work. Do I have to download the 4share program? (I already signed up to 4share but this hasn't seemed to help.)

  2. Anonymous: When you click on one of my files it will bring you to the http://www.4shared.com site. Then you click the BIG BLUE button that says “Download Now”. You have to wait for the little countdown clock to get to zero and where the clock is it will turn into another link that says “Download file now”. Click that and then you should get a gray pop-up window that asks if you want to “SAVE” or “Open”. Make sure to select “SAVE” that way the file get’s saved to your computer’s hard drive. Some computers will ask you where you want to save it to , mine automatically saves it in a folder called downloads under my username

  5. I love this! I just found your website on character building.. It meets all the teaching strategies and adapts to the various learning styles, The activity is easy. Most importantly, it is highly supported by the Bible verses, and the lesson extends to everyday living – not just a Sunday School moment.(Challenge). I use the character builder lesson as a hot topic opener each Sunday. Although I only have 15 minutes,it sometimes go over time because of the height of discussion.(7-10 years), I shared this with my Sunday School Superintendent and now must present my activity to the general teachers meeting.. Of course, you are acknowledged with your website.
    Thanks again and God Bless
