Friends & Heroes Bible Curriculum Giveaway

Hi everyone! I hope your 2016 is getting off to a good start? Ours has been a little crazy, but we’re getting back into the swing of things around here! We’re heading into our 2nd week back in school after the holidays and that’s always the time that I like to introduce a new curriculum if we’re going to be making any changes.   So I also thought that it would be a great time to do a Friends & Heroes Homeschool Curriculum giveaway for you all. For anyone looking for a new Bible curriculum, now’s a great chance to get ahold of a fun and engaging curriculum! It’s the new Series 1 Homeschool Bible Study Curriculum from Friends & Heroes. We’ve been doing daily devotionals which we’ll continue with, but I was excited to add in this new element into our week. I love that it provides a little break from the norm for us. We get out of the school room and head to the family room for a little movie time during school! What? Yep, I didn’t get one single complaint from any of … [Read more...]

All About Reading Level 4 Review & Giveaway

Hi everyone! I have an awesome Christmas giveaway for one of you today! All About Learning Press sent us All About Reading Level 4 for review, and we’re having so much fun with it! I had Tinker Bell, who is in 4th grade, review it for me. So let’s hear what she had to say about this program!   “I like all of the fun activities, it doesn’t seem like school.”  ~ Tinker Bell I’d have to agree with her assessment, I like that the activities for reading are fun for her, and anything that she asks to do gets a thumbs up from me! The AAR levels do build on one another, so it’s helpful if you start with Level 1, but if not, you can contact AALP to get help with level placement. The program covers some spelling rules, multi-syllable words, phonograms, prefixes, abbreviations, and words with an unaccented A. They also cover phonics practice as well. For our reading lessons, she really enjoys the fun hands-on activity book. They usually involve cutting, pasting, coloring, etc. … [Read more...]

Kwik Stix Review and Giveaway!

Good morning everyone! I have a really fun giveaway for you today, and just in time for the holidays! I’ll be giving away a set of the fun new Kwik Stix paint pens by The Pencil Grip!   I’m sure you’ve seen these popping up all over the internet, I know I have! And my kids were so excited when I said that they were sending some for us to review. At first I thought they’d just be like regular crayons or maybe even markers, but they aren’t. They’re actually paint in a stick. So they glide on really smoothly, and can be blended somewhat as well. They go on wet, but dry within about 90 seconds which is nice. And one that that I definitely appreciate is that they come out in an even amount. So you don’t have any large globs of paint like when working with paint and brushes.   We found that they work best with thicker, painting paper as opposed to regular copy paper. Since they are wet, they do act just like paint and can soak through thinner paper.   Hopefully … [Read more...]

Lakeshore Learning Spiral Art Design Center

Looking for some great gift ideas this year? I’ll have more 2015 Holiday Gift Guides coming out soon so stay tuned! But in the meantime, I thought it would be fun to do a giveaway of one of my featured products this year! We got the Spiral Art Design Center for Miss Lady Bug this year and she loves it!   Actually I have my suspicions that a few of my older kiddos will love this too. I remember having one of these when I was a kid, and had so much fun making cool designs with the different disks and colors!   And I was right, everyone ended up giving it a try. I had to set a timer so each one could have a turn.   I’m really hoping they’ll enjoy this for awhile. And I think it’s a great way to encourage creativity while working on fine-motor skills too!   The other thing I like about this one, is that all of the pieces fit into the carrying case, so it’s easy to store, and travel with. Miss Lady Bug likes to bring it … [Read more...]

Little Bits Review & Giveaway

Have you guys heard of Little Bits Electronics? Well, they were new to me! But when they sent me an email to review their products, I was intrigued. I already knew that Turbo loved to play with anything electronic, and after taking a look at their website, I knew he’d love to check them out!   And I was right. After stalking the mailman for what seemed like forever (really about 3-5 days), our package finally arrived! It took him all of about 1 second to tear into it, and start playing around.   Instantly he was lurking around asking people to shake his hand. I thought it was going to be a shocking experience, but actually it was just a harmless buzzer that caused a lot of giggles around here.   He then went back to work creating more projects with the fun manual. They sent us the deluxe kit, and there are about 15 projects in the manual, but there are hundreds more projects online on their website. One thing that are so cool about these kits is that they … [Read more...]

How to Winterize your Nails & Giveaway

Dry hands and cuticles? Don’t worry I have some tips for you today! This one is for not only the ladies out there, but the men too so don’t close your browser too fast boys! It’s winter time, and I don’t know about you, but my hands are super dry and that includes my cuticles and nails. I’m sure it has much to do with all of the hand washing and sanitizing I make everyone do during cold and flu season. I’m like the hand washing ninja these days. Just ask my kids they’ll tell you. And let’s face it, my husband isn’t asking for too many back rubs with my dry scratchy hands. And that’s no bueno. So just as I was lamenting about the sad state of my cuticles, I received this handy winterizing tip from  Julep Nail Polish.  What great timing, right? And since it’s a weekend…and I like to share random fun things on weekends…I thought a nail care post might just help out a few folks. And don’t worry, this isn’t a sponsored post, I just thought I’d share a little hand care tips … [Read more...]
