So I’ve created these bible memory handwriting worksheets to go along with the curriculum!   What is included? There are 42 memory verses in this download to go along with my K4 Kindergarten curriculum. Each one includes the scripture reference, printed verse, and a traceable version of the verse for students. Christmas Extravaganza Day 12: Who is God?

christmasextravaganza.jpg

Welcome to day 12 of my Christmas Extravaganza! Today I have an awesome prize to giveaway to one of you! Today I’m giving away something not only PERFECT for this season, but for every other day of the year too! It’s the Apologia: Who is God from the What We Believe series. I’ve always loved the Apologia company, and what they stand for. They offer a wide variety of curriculum to help grow your homeschool! And they’ve recently come out with a complete Biblical Worldview Curriculum. Now hopefully the term “worldview” doesn’t scare you away. Here’s a special note from Apologia regarding their curriculum: Our children are bombarded on a daily basis with competing messages. Every song, movie, book, TV show, blog, and game is full of ideas—ideas about truth, morality, beauty, identity, faith, and more. Not all of these ideas are true. Some are wrong, some are deceptive, and some are outright destructive. It is more important than ever that young children be equipped to discern … [Read more...]

Give the Gift of Literacy Giveaway

jessetree_promo.jpg

Hi everyone! I’m so excited for today’s post! Mainly because I’m partnering with one of my favorite ministries, Samaritan’s purse. And also because I have a fun FREEBIE for you today AND a giveaway! The bloggers of iHomeschool Network have come together to help support the Samaritan’s Purse Literacy Campaign. We’re sharing our favorite books, along with some fun family activities, as well as giveaways! The Jesse Tree The past couple years we’ve been putting up a Jesse Tree in our home to help remind us of the true meaning of Christmas. The Jesse Tree gets it’s name from Isaiah 11:1-2 “A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse; from his roots a Branch will bear fruit. The Spirit of the Lord will rest upon Him.” The main Branch is a Biblical sign of the expected coming of the Messiah, Jesus Christ and the faithfulness of God. The other branches of the tree represent a piece of the stories that make up the whole story of God’s relationship with His people. As we read through … [Read more...]

Grapevine Bible Study Tracing Pages

IMG_9005web.jpg

They’ve done it again! Grapevine has come up with an awesome new version of their Esther Study! As you all know the Teeny Tot likes to get involved in whatever we are doing, so the new grapevine traceable study sheets are a perfect addition for her! As you can see above the student workbook comes with very light gray marks to help younger students draw the images. I have to say that the Teeny Tot is absolutely LOVES these pages. She’s so excited to be able to do the study along with us and have her own binder. I used the regular blank version for my older students so they can draw their own pictures. I think it will depend on your child’s age and skill level as to which you will want. We always use the multi-level units since I have four different grade levels. What’s Esther all about? Travel back in time with your children and teens as they study the book of Esther. Bible students will begin their in the ancient Persian Empire, as King Ahasuersus banishes Queen Vashti and … [Read more...]

Hi everyone! I have a fun review and discount special just for you, my COAH readers today!   My children have been enjoying the Friends and Heroes DVDs for a while now, and I just recently learned they also have homeschool curriculum that goes with their DVDs! I immediately contacted the company to see if I could do a review of the units. They currently offer 13 different unit studies which are geared towards students 7-11 years of age, and they blend visual learning, with hands-on activities to help cover all learning styles. We promptly received the Long Journey study along with the homeschool unit printables disk to go along with the study. The Long Journey covers the story of Daniel and the lion's’ den and Jesus and the miraculous catch of fish.  My kiddos already love the Friends and Heroes DVDs so this will be a fun addition to our Bible study curriculum plans for our year! Homeschool Unit Study Includes: Each DVD features two themed Bible stories … [Read more...]

Homeschool Bible Curriculum Forum

bible1.jpg

Hi everyone! Welcome to day 2 of my curriculum forum discussions! Today we’re going to talk about how we study the Bible.   Bible is an important part of our homeschool, and for whatever reason it was always one of the hardest for me to find. But since finding the Grapevine Studies we’ve really been  loving our Bible time. These studies work really well for teaching multiple levels and my kids are really enjoying doing them as well, so I plan to continue with these next year. I recommend getting the multiple level student workbook and Teacher’s Manual. You really can’t do these lessons without the TM and then of course you need the student workbooks as well. The TM has the lessons as well as sample drawings for those of us who are artistically challenged! And really these are so flexible they can be done with kiddos as young as Kindergarten I’d say. For preschooler’s they’ve also just released traceable versions as well! We will be using that shortly to help include … [Read more...]

DSC_7136.jpg

Hi everyone! I’m so excited this month to be taking part in Fulfilling Your Vows…Marriage God’s Way. To keep up with everything make sure to like the Fulfilling Your Vows facebook page and you will receive daily encouragement in your marriage and find out about all of the awesome giveaways going on! So onto my topic. Honestly it pains me to hear friends complain about their spouse, talk about how they aren’t receiving what they need, and how if they’re spouse would just do such and such a thing everything would be grand. All the while never thinking that they could be giving to their spouse without expecting all of these things in return. So today I thought I’d focus on something we can do for our spouse that will bless them in an eternal and unconditional way. Keep in mind I’m … [Read more...]

Birth of Jesus Bible Study

grapevinepromo_thumb.jpg

I’m so excited for the giveaway today and it’s a perfect fit for the Christmas season! We’ve just started the multi-level Birth of Jesus study. It’s been so awesome to go through this as we approach the holidays that I wanted to share it all with you too! We started using Grapevine Studies last year, and after a year of using the curriculum, we still LOVE it! it’s easy, and my children have fun drawing the little stick figures for everything. What I love most is that even Tinker Bell can look back at her drawings and recall what was going on in that section. I also really like the maps they include. It’s so cool to show my children where things took place, and how far people traveled as we go through the study. What’s this study all about? Saddle up your donkey and take your children and teens on a trip back to the manger! The timeline of the Nativity will come alive through the Bible study of the characters and events surrounding the birth of Jesus. On this journey students … [Read more...]
