Hi teachers! Are you looking for a fun way to have your 3rd grade students practice their sight words? Look no further!

I’ve had a ton of requests for some more of my sight word sentences, so today I’m sharing the 3rd grade sight word sentence printables with you.

Each worksheet has the sight word along with a funny sentence. Students will practice tracing the word, reading the word several times, then writing it on their own. They will also fill in a sentence using the word as well as practice reading the sentence.

Students will also cut out the letters then glue them on the sheet to spell the word correctly to complete a sentence. I have also added individual letter tracing to this activity to help with cursive handwriting practice.

Finally they will make up their own sentence using their newly learned sight word! The repetition along with the variety of activities really helps students remember their sight words.

  1. This is awesome! I have a third grader this year and all these resources are great! Hope you don’t mind, I’ve been linking to your blog when sharing all the great resources we discovered here at Confessions. You’re simply awesome Erica!

  2. Your website is WONDERFUL! Thank you so much for sharing your creativity! I work with students who are require more help with their language. As much as I wish they could read and write cursive, they are not quite there yet. Do you by any chance have these worksheets in print instead of cursive?
Thank you again for being willing to take the time and create such awesome resources!

      1. I’d like them in print as well. I am combining all the years so I can teach my daughter 1st – 3rd grade because she can and wants to do all of them but we aren’t going to focus on cursive for another year or two. For us this is more about learning to read than learning to spell.

Thank you for all the work you put into this stuff, it is so helpful.

  3. I LOVE THIS!!!
    only one problem….

ITS ALL IN CURSIVE! I’m working with a special needs student, and we cannot use this set because it is in cursive 🙁

It would be the most amazing thing in the world if you could make it in printing too, and have both options available.

Otherwise this is EXACTLY what I was looking for!

  4. I’m a home schooling granny. A retired Registered Nurse. I home school my 8 year old granddaughter. My granddaughter lives with her parents but she comes to my house everyday for school. I haven’t heard very much about grandparents who home school. We’ve been home schooling for 2 years. I just wanted to thank you for all the great products that you have shared. I love these sight words. So well done and my granddaughter will love them too. She has a terrible time with sentences and these sheets have a place to write a sentence using the word. I have used many of your free printable and also the Road Trip one. Absolutely fantastic. Thank God for people like you. You have helped not only your own children but many other children as well.

  5. I was so excited to see the third grade sentences. So disappointed to see only in cursive. I home school my learning disabled granddaughter and have used your other sentences and they work really well. She will never be able to do cursive. If you do them I’m print please let me know. Thank You
