Hello awesome readers. Today I come to you with a cry for support.

Thank you to so many of you who supported last week’s blog post about honoring copyright.

Unfortunately, this action ruffled some feathers of one of the Facebook groups in question. They’ve chosen to have their members report my Confessions of a Homeschooler Facebook account as abusive and Facebook has disabled my account in response.

PLEASE HELP!

Today I come to you with a cry for support to have my account reinstated. I don’t know if it will work or not, but I’m hoping if we flood Facebook with requests they may take notice. I’m currently trying to appeal to Facebook to get the account reinstated and would appreciate any support you are comfortable giving!

If you feel led to support my cause, please use hashtag:

#WeLoveCoah

Feel free to copy and paste any of the tweet/FB posts below, or create your own!

Please Reinstate http://www.facebook.com/ConfessionsofaHomeschooler for www.confessionsofahomeschooler.com @ericahomeschool #WeLoveCoah

Feel free too share links to your favorite COAH printables with your followers too! Any support is appreciated!

THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for all of your support, I am so blessed to see so many people already standing up for what is right as well as helping to petition for my Facebook page already!

P.S. Make sure to check in tomorrow, I have a fun freebie for everyone!

  1. I’m sorry to hear this, but posting to Facebook won’t help. People will need to contact FB directly, not just make status posts. Hope you get this straightened out soon!

  2. I’m choosing to see that God is going to use this in favor for you, Erica! Think about it – I love you, but since I’m homeschooling for the first time this year a ton of my friends haven’t heard of CoaH. They will now! So I’m sharing your ‘reinstatement’ link, praying over it as I do that God is going to use this as more publicity for your awesome ministry.

Nothing God’s hand touches returns void.

  3. The blocking is done by automated programs. There are also humans that work in this but they are not the first step. The first step for FB is to block the account. Unfair.. well yes. But that is what they do. Here is a web page with steps that you can take to get your account back.

Having people post messages will not be read by FB admins at all so I love your cheering squad but it isn’t actually going to solve anything. Only you as the owner of the page can do anything about bringing the page back. But be encouraged. This sort of things happens all the time and in the next day or so, you should be back up and running.

      1. I used their feedback form to send a message asking them to reinstate your page – not sure if it will help but figured if they don’t read messages posted to FB they at least review their feedback?? So sorry this has happened to you.

          1. I went to where you go to log out and there is a help option to click on. From there I went to report a problem and I sent it through both send feedback and report a problem.

          2. Erica, thank you for your great website, it has been a blessing to my family. I sent feedback to FB as soon as I read this post. So sad you were maligned.

  4. I am so sorry that you have been bullied in this fashion. This is a sad day when they want to take apart your hard work because they wanted to steal it. I will pray for a swift and positive resolution. I have shared your situation on Facebook, all my board, and in various private communities. I will lend any support that I can.

  5. I’m really sadden by all this! I’m sorry such a supportive, kind and generous person like you had to be taken advantage of by people with no morals and honor. It is such a shame that people like that are called homeschoolers.

I really hope Erica, as hurtful as this is that this doesn’t stop you from continuing with your support and blessing so many good homeschooling families.

    God bless you!

  6. Oh Erica! This saddens me so much. As an HR Manager (on hiatus while I raise my 2 littles) and wife to a web design company owner, I take copyrights very seriously and it really angers me that others (especially those who call themselves Christian homeschoolers) think it’s optional and blatantly steal someone else’s hard work that they are entitled to be paid for. And $10 a unit is the best deal anywhere. Though many comments above say posting a support for you on FB won’t solve the problem, I’ve done so anyway if not to grab anyone at FB’s attention, then just for the recognition for you and to hopefully draw more of my young mom friends’ attention to your website. Please do not get discouraged, know that you have inspired so many of us to do this “homeschool thing” and you have made it easy and fun for both us teachers and the kids. My kids ask every day to “do school.” No such thing as summer break around here. Best wishes to you as you endure this trial. Many hugs and prayers to you and your family.
