Ephesians 6:1-9 ~ Week 11

Ephesians.jpg

Good morning everyone! I hope you are all having a blessed week. We have just finished our 11th week in our Ephesians Study! Ephesians 6:1-9 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2 “Honor your father and mother”—which is the first commandment with a promise— 3 “so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.”[a] 4 Fathers,[b] do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord. 5 Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ. 6 Obey them not only to win their favor when their eye is on you, but as slaves of Christ, doing the will of God from your heart. 7 Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not people, 8 because you know that the Lord will reward each one for whatever good they do, whether they are slave or free. 9 And masters, treat your slaves in the same way. Do not threaten … [Read more...]

Monthly Meal Plan ~ April 2012

April2012.jpg

Hi everyone, I am actually on time this month with my monthly meal plan! I hope it’s helping you out some, and alleviating a little bit of your stress!   In the download there will be some recipes that are underlined. You should be able to click on those to get a recipe. I’ve also had a lot of questions about my smoothies! So I wanted to share a quick mix we use! Fruit Smoothies: Ingredients: 1 banana (frozen is better, but I will work at room temp.) 2 cups frozen strawberries (Again, room temp is okay) 1 cup milk 1/2 cup vanilla yogurt (We prefer frozen yogurt) 1/2 cup orange juice Optional: 2-3 tablespoons honey to taste (The plain fruit can be a bit sour, but the orange juice helps with this, so try it before adding honey) Directions: Add all ingredients into a blender and mix until smooth! Pour into glasses and serve! This usually serves my 4 kiddos and me, but they all get half glasses. If I need a little more, I’ll just add in some more milk or … [Read more...]

Hi and welcome to our Road Trip USA week on Virginia! Virginia became the 10th state on June 25, 1788, and was one of the original 13 colonies. It was nicknamed “The Old Dominion” referring to complete ownership of a particular piece of land or territory during Colonial times. The ponies were made famous by Marguerite Henry in her children’s book titled “Misty of Chincoteague”. Child Training Bible Giveaway

ctb

I have a wonderful giveaway for you today! I’m sure you’ve already heard of it, and I have to say I was really excited when the creators of the Child Training Bible asked me to review their product!   So what is the Child Training Bible? It’s a wonderful way to quickly refer to scripture to discipline, and encourage your children! There is a handy key that goes in the front, so you can quickly find scriptures that go along with your most current issue. Simply turn to the page with the matching colored tab, and find the highlighted scripture.   I have a few set scriptures that I tend to go for, but this is so much more! It starts off showing you the scripture that deals with your child’s specific issue, then goes on into discussing how they can correct that issue.   It does take a little bit to go through and mark all of the scriptures, but they’ve outlined all of the scriptures in order, so it goes quite quickly. And, I really have to … [Read more...]

Ephesians 5:21-33 ~ Week 10

DSC_7136.jpg

Good morning everyone! I hope you are all having a blessed week. We have just finished our 10th week in our Ephesians Study!   Ephesians 5:21-33 Instructions for Christian Households 21 Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ. 22 Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. 24 Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything. 25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her 26 to make her holy, cleansing[a] her by the washing with water through the word, 27 and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. 28 In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. 29 After all, no one ever hated their … [Read more...]

4-H Robotics

IMG_5475_thumb.jpg

Turbo has been participating in a Robotics club this year and he absolutely LOVES it! Since it’s been such a big hit, I wanted to take a minute to share some information with you as well. They have 3 tracks to work through, Virtual Robotics, Junk Drawer Robotics, and Robotics Platforms. The program Turbo is currently doing is called “Junk Drawer Robotics” because the items used can typically be found in your junk drawer! The group is filled with boys ranging from age 6-12 and they all team up to work together on projects. They are currently working through the Robotics Level 1 “Give Robots a Hand”. They’ll eventually move onto Levels 2: “Robots on the Move”, and Level 3: “Mechatronics”. Each project (teacher manual) book costs around $7-$9.   In order to complete the program, each student needs a 4-H Robotics Youth Notebook ($5.95). The notebook is used to record ideas, collect data, draw designs, and take notes on their projects. Along with the main curriculum … [Read more...]
