I melted mine in the microwave. Check and stir the candies every 30 seconds until it is nice and smooth.   Step 3: Next drizzle your pink mixture on to the popcorn using a spoon. Repeat with the red candy.   Step 4: … [Read more...]

DIY Crayons: Valentine’s Day Hearts!

diyheartcrayons.jpg

Hello readers! Today I have a really easy and cute Valentine’s DIY activity for you! These cute little nuggets are DIY Heart Crayons, and they’re so easy even your kiddos can make them! (With adult supervision for the baking part of course.)   Let’s get started shall we?   For this project you’ll need: Crayons Silicone Heart Mold (You can find these at your local craft store)   STEP 1: Take the wrappers off of your crayons and break them up into small chunks. I decided to mix the colors a little bit, but you can do this however you would like! I put a few chunks of similar colors into each heart mold. You’ll want your mold to be about halfway full. I normally save a baggie of broken and used crayons for this type of activity.   STEP 2: Preheat your oven to 175 degrees Fahrenheit. Next place the mold onto a cookie sheet, and into your oven. Bake the crayons for about 10 minutes, or until your wax is completely melted. … [Read more...]

DIY Valentine’s Body Butter

IMG_0288web.jpg

Hi everyone! I have a super fun, slightly messy, Valentine’s treat for you today! It’s a DIY Body Butter tutorial!   This butter is so great to use during this time of year when dry skin is rampant. It’s light weight, natural, and doesn’t leave a sticky feeling on your skin. It can look at tad oily at first, but if you’re skin is dry like mine, this stuff will just absorb right in! And since we’re making this ourselves, we don’t have any of those yucky chemicals in it that come with store bought products!   WHAT YOU’LL NEED: A container (I reused Bath & Body Works candle holders, but you can get containers at your local craft store.) Natural Oils: Pure Shea Butter, Raw Cocoa Butter, and Raw Mango Butter, Extra virgin Coconut Oil, Extra Virgin Olive Oil Utensils: Glass bowl, measuring cup, hand beater, and spoon Optional coloring: Wilton Oil Based Candy Colors Optional Fragrance: I used Butter Cream & Snicker Doodle and Island Coconut from … [Read more...]
