Welcome to Week 1 of our Vintage Christmas 2 quilt-a-long! This is such a fun holiday quilt pattern, and I can’t wait to sew along with you!

I am going to break it up into five weeks, so we can get be ready for the holiday season. But of course, you can go at your own pace! Make sure to share your progress pictures using #vintagechristmas2qal so we can all see your work!

I’ll be posting my progress regularly on Instagram and Facebook so make sure to follow along with me there. And I’ll share little tips as we go in my IG and FB stories, so make sure to check each day for updates!

Week 1 Schedule:

Monday: Cut out fabric for tree blocks. I like to get all of my fabric cut out on one day, then whenever I have time throughout the week I can go in and sew a little! You’d be surprised how much you can get done a little at a time!

Tuesday-Friday: Sew Tree Blocks together. This week we’ll be sewing all six tree blocks. They go really fast if you chain-piece them so I would definitely recommend it! I like to sew the pieces first, then do all of my pressing and trimming at the same time. For these fun little trees, I sew all of the treetop sections first. Then I go back and work on the tree body, then finally the trunks. After that, it’s a breeze to sew the trees together!

TIP: Make sure to refer to the Vintage Christmas 2 pattern for all sewing instructions throughout the quilt-a-long. Need help piecing your blocks? Check out my video tutorials below!

This entire quilt is traditionally pieced! It does have several pieces, so I think it’s a beginner-intermediate level pattern. However, the pattern does include step-by-step graphic illustrations and written instructions, and you’re welcome to email me if you have any questions at all!

So I say if you like it, go for it!

  1. Is there an error on the sashing and borders? When sewing together it says to sew C1, B1, B1 which would all be white but the picture shows white, red, white.
Love this pattern and your You Tube videos. I’m so glad I came across your Instagram page. Looking forward to trying more of your patterns.
