2015 5th Grade Homeschool Schedule

5thgradeSchedule_2015.jpg

Hello readers! Today we’re taking a closer look at the 5th grade daily homeschool schedule that Turbo has been doing this year.   This is basically an outline of our day and things do change up a bit here and there. But for the most part, this is the schedule that Turbo is following this year. I didn’t let him pick an elective class this year, but I think I’ll allow everyone to pick one next year since Strawberry Shortcake’s photography class went so well. We switched things up a little this year, and instead of doing history and science everyday, we now alternate them doing both only twice per week. I did have to pick units for our science because we won’t get through the whole book in one year now, but several of them were repeats for us anyway. And I prefer alternating them each twice a week rather than trying to do both daily. Turbo is currently 10 years old, and in the 5th grade. He definitely has a filled schedule this year, but he’s doing great! Download a copy: … [Read more...]

Kindergarten Daily Schedule

kinderdailyschedule.jpg

A few years ago I did a series of posts titled Daily Homeschool Schedule for you all. Since then I’ve had countless questions about our updated homeschool schedule, and specifically for my kindergartener since I didn’t do one at that time. You can see a basic overview of our daily schedule here. You’ve also been asking questions about how long we do each subject, how many days per week, and what our day looks like hour by hour for each grade level. So I thought maybe these posts would help out! So for the next few weeks I’m going to share our schedules in a more detail by each grade level so you can see what we’re up to. Today we’ll be taking a quick look at my kindergartener’s schedule. We do a co-op on Friday’s so her calendar has Friday’s blank.   Download a copy: Daily Schedule Kindergarten – PDF Daily Schedule Kindergarten – Word Doc (Editable) Here’s our Basic Kindergarten Schedule: 8:30am   – Breakfast / Family Devotion Time … [Read more...]

Our Daily Homeschool Schedule

OurFamilySchedule2012.jpg

I’ve had numerous questions on what our daily schedule looks like. While each day can bring on a life of it’s own, we do have a basic schedule and we stick to it for the most part barring any unforeseen circumstances! I find that our children do better with a general overall guideline of how their day will go. Here is our schedule….basically…provided nothing unexpected happens…like say the Teeny Tot decides to paint the floor with her new blue fingernail polish. 7:30 am – Shower/get dressed 8:00 am – Breakfast, and I start a load of laundry (I usually do 1 load per day, sometimes 2) 8:30 am – SCHOOL STARTS! 8:30 – Bible 9:00 – Math 9:30 – Spelling 9:45 – Handwriting 10:00 – English/Snack 10:30 – Reading 11:00 – Free Reading Time (Kids can pick any book they want, but must read for 15 min.) 11:15ish – LUNCH BREAK (Switch out laundry to dryer) 12:15 – History/Science (Alternate doing each 2x per week) 12:45 – Piano/Typing (Alternate doing each 2x per … [Read more...]

What’s A Typical Day Like?

What is my typical day like? I had someone ask and didn't think I could fit it in comments LOL! So here goes...please keep in mine that we are flexible as we have a baby, and unforeseen events daily it seems that cause us to veer off course, but Steady as she goes is my moto! Often you'll hear "Back to boxes!" coming from me (every few minutes it seems)...especially with the boy who has taken to 'disappearing' between boxes, or when we have to stop an activity because the baby has opened a drawer and emptied its contents all over the school room. Wednesdays are different as the girls have dance from noon-2, so we just start earlier to accommodate this. And I've kindly spared listing the billion times a day I save my baby from choking hazards and falling off the stairs to her death. Oh and the 3am feedings that we still do because I can't stand to let her 'cry it out'. But...with all that said, here's our 'plan' for each day, and I really DO try to follow it! Okay, are you … [Read more...]
